Lisa and her Be You Skincare Routine

Lisa and her Be You Skincare Routine

Hi Lisa, can you share your skincare routine with us?

Ha, you can really call my facial routine a routine because I barely deviate from it. I love the soothing effect and how it makes my skin look and feel!

First step - Cleansing

In the morning and evening, I wash my face with the Be You Skincare oil. I rinse my face with warm water, then massage the oil onto my face and take a second to breathe in the pure rose oil. Then, I dip a soft cloth into warm water to wipe my face. I sometimes repeat this process when I feel that my skin needs another round, but usually, once is enough.

Second step – Moisturizing

Moisturizing is straightforward. I use 6 drops of oil, warm it in my hands and then massage it onto my face and neck. I am meticulous with counting the drops, which is kind of funny when I think about it. My husband used to apply just whatever amount of oil onto his face as a moisturizer, and I didn’t want him to waste the precious oil. That’s why I encouraged counting, and we figured that 6 drops are ideal for my face and neck and perfect for his face. So 6 drops it is. Not more. Not less.

Optional step – Scrub

Once a week, I use the Gentle Exfoliating Rice Scrub in the evening. I sprinkle half a teaspoon into my hands, mix it with a few drops of oil and massage it onto my face. I wash it off with warm water, and I use a cloth to ensure that all the scrub is gone. Then I add the oil as a moisturizer (step 2), and I can almost feel how my skin absorbs it and enjoys this special treatment.

Do you use any additional skincare products for your face?

In the mornings, I wait a few minutes until the oil has been absorbed completely, then I add an SPF to protect my skin against UVB and UVA rays. In the evenings, I don’t use any additional products.

How did your skin change when starting your Be You Skincare routine?

I used to struggle with an oily forehead, some redness around the nose and dryness lines at the end of the day. After a week of using the oil, those problems started disappearing, and I couldn’t believe it.

The Oil Cleansing Method was without a doubt the biggest game-changer for me because I had never heard about it before. I used to wash my face with a mild cleansing gel, but I think it was still too strong for my face, stripping my skin's natural protective barrier and causing it to react.

Do you use the oil only for your face?

I use most of the oil for my face. I also apply it to my hair, hands, feet or any dry skin area, but not every day. I also use it to spoil my children with a massage after a bath or to comfort them when they have a little bruise. When they fall down, they come to me and ask if they can use “mummy’s special oil”. They enjoy the wonderful rose smell and a cuddle… and then they ask for a plaster because for them, nothing can beat a good big plaster.
